What is Street Soccer and how does it work?
Street soccer is generally small-sided pick up games of soccer. To begin with a group of youth players are grouped together in mixed gender and age, and are all given a number from 1 to 30, or however many players attend. Players are then randomly put into teams of three and given a field to play a scrimmage game. There are no goalkeepers and players are not refereed, but monitored at a distance so they can sort out there own disputes. After each game players are called back and when there number is called they give their personal score. Players score themselves and obtain points by, their team winning a game (3 points), tying (1piont) and for each goal an individual scores (1point) for their selves only. After each game the scores are taken, and players are re-shuffled into different teams. Generally five games can be played in one hour and the top three players are awarded prizes.
